How do I replace the shocks on my car or truck?
Usually, it's a very simple swap, with the toughest part being compressing the spring using a spring compressor. For your specific application, we recommend asking in our car forum. Generally, you need to jack up your car, and remove your wheels. With the front shocks, you will see that the shocks are attached to the hub, and simply need to be unbolted. Sometimes you need need to disconnect the brake line, and various other components. You would then pop your hood, and remove the 3 or 4 bolts holding the top of the shock to the shock tower. Repeat in the back.

How can I tell if I need new shocks?
Sometimes it's obvious, because your car tends to bounce over bumpers, and doesn't feel very stable. When your shocks blow, your car literally feels like it's riding on springs, and tends to float on the road, which is very dangerous. If your shocks blow, you can notice that your inner fender wall is covered in shock fluid, or there is shock fluid on the shock itself.

My car is lowered, do I need new shocks?
Not necessarily. Some cars come with very strong shocks from the factory, and they can take a lowered car. Typically, the lower the car, the more strain it puts on the shocks . We always recommend to put new shocks on with your lowering springs, and we sell performance shocks such as Koni, Bilstein and KYB AGX. These are adjustable shocks, and are highly recommended to be used with a performance suspension. We even recommend these shocks when you are still using stock springs.

Why not buy my shocks at the dealer? I want stock shocks
In most cases, car manufactures do not make shocks. They stock shocks are usually made by KYB, Bilstein, Sachs, or Tokico. Our prices on these replacement shocks are usually 70-80% lower than from the dealer, who charges outrageous prices, simply because most people do not know where else to buy replacement shocks. Our catalog makes it easy for you, and we recommend that if you want the dealer to install your shocks, you purchase them from us, save hundreds, and then bring it to the dealer for install.
