Is it easy to replace the catalytic converter on my car or truck?
The location of the catalytic converter is different on many cars, so it can range from being a quick 4 bolt removal job, to having the remove the exhaust manifold and header pipe as the catalytic converter might be between the two. Then, if your car is a V6 or a V8, and in some cases a 4 cylinder, you might have more than one catalytic converter, with one being called a "pre converter". This would get more complex to remove. For help with your specific application, please ask in our car forum.

My car did not pass smog and has high emissions. Will a new catalytic converter help me?
If the high emissions are caused by a bad catalytic converter, then our replacement units will help get the job done. Remember, that when you get a new unit, you need to properly break it in, for it to be effective. We recommend driving for a few hours to heat it up, so that it gives you maximum filtering of your exhaust gases.

Do these catalytic converters need to be welded in?
These are direct replacement units, and do not require any modifications to install on your vehicle. Unlike other universal units, these are specifically made for your vehicle, and for your vehicles engine.

Do I need to replace anything else when I replace this?
Often times, if a catalytic converter goes bad, it could be because your car was running very rich, and clogged the element in the unit. If this is the case, you might also need to replace your oxygen sensor or o2 sensor, to prevent your catalytic converter from getting clogged again. If your car is OBDII, you might also need to check the rear o2 sensor, as on OBD2 cars, the rear sensor might get clogged as well, and throw a check engine light indicating that the catalytic converter needs to be replaced.
