The radiator is a very important aspect of your car or truck, and is mainly responsible for ensuring that the
coolant in your engine is able to maintain a certain temperature, and not overheat. The radiator is designed so
that as hot coolant and water mixture pass through it, the fins on the radiator create a large surface area, and
along with the radiator fan, they cool the coolant down to a level that keeps it consistent, and at a perfect
operating temperature. Most cars have one radiator, and have two fans attached. One fan is generally used when
the air conditioning system is active, and the other fan is specifically used to turn on and off depending on the
temperature of the coolant. Many of these radiator fans are electric and some of them are mechanical. We
recommend that if your radiator fan is mechanical to switch it to electric to save fuel economy, and engine load.
Do you sell aftermarket performance radiators too?
Our catalog above has many different radiators. We carry radiators that are simply factory replacement radiators,
and are meant to be direct drop in replacements, and we also sell performance radiators that are made from
different metals such as aluminum or cooper that can help reduce temperatures even more, for modified vehicles.
Even our performance radiators are designed to be drop ins, and require no modifications in order to install.
What is the difference if my car is an automatic or a manual transmission?
Typically, you can use a radiator made for an automatic transmission on a manual car, but not vice versa. This is
because automatic transmission typically use the engine radiator to cool the transmission as well. There is
usually a plug on the bottom of the radiator that connects to the automatic.
Do you offer any products to fix a leaking radiator?
If your radiator has a leak, we do not recommend to patch the hole, or apply another type of radiator fix. If your
radiator has gotten to the point of leaking, fixing it only puts you on borrowed time. We recommend to replace the
entire radiator, and this way you can protect your engine from the possibility of overheating.
Can I replace my radiator myself?
Absolutely. Replacing the radiator can be time consuming, depending on the type of car or truck you have, but it's
not tough. Especially if you have electric fans, all you need to do is unplug everything, drain your radiator
coolant, disconnect the radiator hose, and
move everything over to the new radiator.
What coolant to water mixture do you recommend?
We typically recommend the standard 50/50 mixture, 50 percent coolant to 50 percent water. Depending on your
weather conditions, you might want to adjust this ratio.
Do your radiators come with a radiator cap?
Yes, our new radiators do come with a radiator
cap, but to be sure, view the picture of the radiator to ensure it comes with a new cap. If it does not come with
a cap, you can either reuse your old one, or purchase a new one for a low price. All of our radiators also come
with a brand new radiator drain plug.
