How do you replace your wiper blades?
Replacing wiper blades is very straight forward. Most cars and trucks come with the same wiper blade design, but for those applications that do not, we recommend getting advice in our car forum. Below we will take a very basic approach that will work on most cars and trucks.

We offer three different types of wiper blade replacement. You can replace the entire wiper blade that comes with the metal body, just the wiper blade insert that is only the rubber part of the wiper blade, or the whole wiper blade set that includes both the driver and passanger side wiper blades to replace both.

When you purchase your wiper blades from us, they will arrive within a few days. Open your package, and prepare the wiper blades for install.

Pull up your wiper arm on your car or truck so that it is in a resting position and no longer leaning on the winshield. In the center of the wiper blade there is a tab that you can usually lift up and slide the whole assembly off. Sometimes there might be a screw here. Remove the screw if applicable, and the full wiper blade should come apart from the wiper arm. Take the new wiper blade, and slide it onto the wiper arm, same position as the factory one was. Listen for a click. Once it clicks you are done. Very simple!

Tip: When replacing your wiper blades, put a towel on your winshield to protect it, in case if the wiper arm snaps down during replacement. This will protect you from having to replace your winshield. Not fun!

When do I need to replace my wiper blades?
There is no set timeframe to replace them as they wear depending on usage and also on what conditions they are exposed to. Check to see if your wiper blades are contamimated on the rubber section. Over time, the rubber piece can get hard or build up dirt and grime over time causing skipping, streaks or chattering when using your wipers.

Sometimes after a very cold winter or a very dry summer, the wiper blade gets hard and cracks. If this occurs you are going to get nothing but smearing on you winshield. One of the most common wiper blades prone to this is on the rear window.
