A water pump is a key element in making sure your engine runs cool, and does not overheat. Anytime you replace
your timing belt we recommend to replace the
water pump at the same time. Most of our water pumps come with brand new water pump gaskets, but check the picture
next to the part number to make sure. Water pumps are responsible for pumping the coolant and water mixture
through the radiator, and into the engine. If
the water pump fails, then the coolant does not flow, and heats up, causing your engine to over heat. Replacing
the water pump could be very expensive, and this is why we recommend to change it every 60,000 miles, the same time
you replace your timing belt. We carry a timing belt kit which could include a water
pump as well, or if your car has a timing
chain, check the timing chain kit to
see if it could include everything you need for a full replacement, along with the water pump.
Do you carry performance water pumps or electric water pumps?
Yes we do. However, these performance or electric water pumps are not in this catalog. This catalog is strictly
for OEM factory replacement water pumps, and do not offer any performance benefit over the factory pieces. They
are direct replacements. Please contact us if you are looking for a water pump for a modified vehicle, or check
our performance catalog for more parts.
Can I replace the water pump myself?
We do recommend to purchase the replacement water pumps from us, and then take the parts to a professional
mechanical for installation. This is because you need to install the water pump in a certain way to make sure that
there is no leaking, that the gasket is installed correctly, and that the water pump belt is installed properly.
It's especially important because the water pump is located around the timing belt or timing chain and if you have
a leaking water pump, it could potentially harm the belt, and cause engine damage. It's a rather time consuming
and delicate procedure, so we do recommend professional installation, as it usually requires as much work as a full
timing belt swap.
Do your water pumps require anything special for install?
The water pumps that we sell are strictly replacement, and are direct bolt on, replacement parts, so there is no
modification or custom work needed to install. These parts are installed the same as any water pump you would
purchase from your local dealer. Infact, many times our water pumps are the same brand the dealer sells, except
they charge 3 to 5 times as much!
Are your water pumps brand new?
Absolutely. We only sell brand new, factory fresh water pumps.
