Step 3

Your car or truck's engine electrical system powers the whole car. This system powers everything from the headlights, to the stereo, to the spark in your spark plugs. This system is run by the alternator, which spins using drive belts. As the alternator spins, it recharges the battery, and keep everything running while your car runs.

One of the other key aspects to the electrical system, is for those cars which are not distributor less, the distributor gets it's power to give the spark plug wires spark, which send the spark through to the spark plugs. The distributor is made up of many different parts like the distributor cap and distributor rotor, so these all need to be maintained to ensure the car performs flawlessly and reliably.

Another key aspect is the knock sensor which is found on almost all late model cars and trucks, and is responsible for hearing or listening for knock and ping, and this sensor helps to pull back timing, so the engine can be more reliable. Another key aspect of the engine electrical system is the starter, which is obviously, responsible for starting your engine. We have replacement starters, replacement spark plugs, replacement spark plug wires and more replacement parts ready to ship.

We also offer a forum for our users to discuss various components, parts, and DIY on how to replace engine electrical parts, and also maintain their vehicles.
